Plant Hygienist

The role:

We currently require a Plant Hygienist to join our Hokitika based Laboratory team. We require a motivated individual who prides themself on their attention to detail and who works only to the highest standards.

Working 4 days on 4 days off (12hr day shifts only), your responsibilities will include the environmental swabbing and micro-organism air monitoring within the manufacturing plants on the Hokitika site, collection of in line samples and final product samples, sub-sampling, sample dispatch, assistance with foreign matter and impurities testing and housekeeping of the Laboratory Sampling areas & helping out in other labs when required. You will also help ensure all organisational procedures (5S principles), cleaning, and environmental systems are maintained to the highest level.

Ideally we are looking for someone who may have had prior similar or relevant experience, however full training can be given for the right person. Ideal attributes therefore include:

• A high degree of motivation and attention to detail with the ability to use your initiative
• Loyalty, reliability, dedication, trustworthiness and commitment
• Adherence to health and safety, hygiene, quality and compliance regulations at all times
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills
• A strong desire to live and work in Hokitika
• Physically fit with the ability to climb stairs and lift and move a 25kg bag of milk powder
• Knowledge of laboratory methods and techniques and any previous practical experience in a research or commercial laboratory would be beneficial.
