Position: Baker (1).

Location: Hokitika, New Zealand

Employment Type: Full-Time (Minimum 30 hours per week)

Hourly Rate: $27 - $32 per hour (commensurate with experience and qualifications)

Stone Oven Bakery & Cafe is one of Hokitikas oldest establishments, formerly known as Prestons Bakery. Since relocating to Revell Street in 2005, we have been committed to sourcing local ingredients and providing handcrafted pastries and savouries to both the local community and tourists. In addition to our bakery offerings, we serve breakfast and lunch menus, and occasionally special event menus for occasions like Christmas, Mothers Day, Easter, and local events such as the Hokitika Wildfoods Festival.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, and savoury items using traditional methods.

Ensure the quality and consistency of baked goods meet our high standards.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all health and safety regulations.

Collaborate with the team to develop new recipes and seasonal offerings.

Assist in managing inventory, including ordering and stock rotation.

Requirements:

A minimum of 2 years of professional baking experience or a relevant qualification in baking.

Proficiency in baking a wide range of products, including breads, pastries, and cakes.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.

Ability to work early mornings and weekends as required.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
