Airport Compliance Officer - Part-time

The Role / Person

The Timaru Richard Pearse Airport is council-owned and operated and located a short 15-minute drive north of Timaru. Our Airport operations play a key role in connecting Timaru with the rest of New Zealand with multiple flights each day including AirNZ scheduled flights. Timaru Airport holds Civil Aviation Part 139 Certification and we are looking for an individual who can take a strong lead and continue to improve on and monitor our safety and operation systems.

As our new Airport Compliance Officer your challenge will be ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Timaru Airport terminal, aircraft movement areas, buildings, infrastructure, equipment, and environment. You will also ensure the Airport operates in compliance with all legislative and governing authorities.

As this is a varied role, you will be experienced in carrying out Health & Safety inspections/auditing, managing compliance documentation, communicating with a range of internal and external stakeholders, and educating users on safety management systems. You will need to gain CAA Senior Person accreditation in this role.

A sound knowledge of the NZ CAA rules and regulations and the HSWA would be beneficial. Bonus points if you have experience or qualifications in health and safety, aviation, and have experience in a similar role or the aviation transport sector.

This is a permanent role and offers 20 hours per week. Flexible working arrangements are also available including some remote working.
