We are seeking a Clinical Leader to lead with energy, resilience, commitment and drive, who can inspire and lead our North Shore teams. This is a full-time permanent role. Regular travel across Auckland to meet with team members, as well as travel to Northland for meetings (6 times a year) in a Plunket vehicle, will be part of this role.
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
This is a dynamic role where needs of the front line team will dictate the direction of your mahi and require you to adapt to the changing demands of your team. You will field clinical and operational escalations which will require advanced problem solving and decision-making skills.
Youll provide leadership and remove barriers for your team of Registered Nurses and Karitāne (Health Workers) to consistently deliver quality service to the whānau we serve. Youll guide each individual to reach their full potential through tailored coaching and feedback and build a high performing team through facilitating meaningful team hui where you communicate key messages, encourage healthy collaboration and celebrate successes in your area. As the need arises, youll recruit and orientate new kaimahi and supporting their ongoing development, whether it is submitting their PDRP portfolio or completing their PG Cert or HW Cert.

You will come to us with energy and rich insights into how to best deliver to North Shore whānau. You will be a confident Nurse who has developed leadership skills either through your day job or outside of work, specifically, the ability to:
- understand individual drivers and motivate others
- harness, develop and celebrate the unique skills each kaimahi brings
- communicate messages and deliver feedback in mana enhancing way
- have exceptional time management skills
- make decisions based on data which focus on supporting our equity journey.
This role calls for someone that embraces our uara (values) when working in partnership with the team you lead, the colleagues around you and the whānau we serve, who are our ultimate priority. You will also bring a deep desire to create and contribute, and a willingness to take risks and challenge the status quo.
Ngā tohu motuhake | Important qualifications
To be successful you will have:
- A current NZ Nursing Council Annual Practicing Certificate
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to build strong professional relationships with staff and stakeholders
- PDRP level 3/4
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti ō Waitangi and its application to improving health outcomes for whānau Māori, as well as a commitment/interest in Te Reo Māori me ngā tikanga
- An understanding of equity and how this applies to your practice and health outcomes
